It all started ten years ago when our founder, Jim, stepped inside Kibera, Africa’s largest slum. A slum of almost a million people, all living in an area the size of New York Central Park.
After spending time at St Johns School in Kibera, where learning is made difficult by dark classrooms, leaking roofs and hungry stomachs, he returned to Australia, where companies just seemed to be driving for profits, at any cost.
It was over a coffee where we wondered if there was a way we could have an impact over there, through something we drink every single day.
That is how Nice Coffee Co. was born.
A 100% social business dedicated to providing access to education in Kibera, through your daily cup.

"All it takes to get poor people out of poverty is for us to create an enabling environment for them. Once the poor can unleash their energy and creativity, poverty will disappear very quickly." Muhammad Yannus
